LESSONS

Cynthia is currently accepting students age 3 and up for audition. The length of the lesson is determined after an audition takes place and a student is evaluated.

Lessons are conducted in a picturesque, sun-lit studio with a woodland view. Students receive their instruction on a nine-foot Steinway grand piano. Cynthia has developed a range of music education games, tools and techniques that engage young students and make learning fun.

The regular fall term runs from September through December. Registration to reserve a space for the fall term begins in August. The winter/spring term runs from January through May with a two-week break in March. Many students continue their lessons during the summer, from mid-June through early August.

In addition to individual lessons, students are encouraged to participate in group lessons and recitals where they learn from and are motivated by each other. Frequent public performance makes it feel like a natural and enjoyable part of being a musician. It also builds students’ confidence and provides ongoing incentive to practice and improve.

The highlights of the fall term are the NEOMTA Fall Festival, annual Halloween and holiday recitals. Winter/spring highlights include the NEOMTA Young Artist Recital, Junior Music Festival, where students are adjudicated and earn points towards receiving Gold Cups for their skills, the Chamber Music Recital in late April-early May and the CIM Alumni Student Recital in May.
